Recent passage of the Economic Stimulus plan is allowing homeowners the chance to take advantage of modified and extended tax credits for energy-efficient improvements, which includes windows and doors.
The tax credit is equal to 30% of the cost of qualifying energy efficient upgrades up to a maximum of $1500.00 for a household for 2009 and 2010.
Qualifying window and door products must have both a U-Factor of 0.30 or lower and a Solar Heat Gain Coefficient
(SHGC) of 0.30 or lower.
Full Qualifications
- 0.30 U-Factor or lower
- 0.30 SHGC or lower
- Retain your sales receipt and the NFRC labels from each window and door
- Purchase must be made before Dec. 31, 2010
- Claim your tax credit on your Federal tax submittal for the applicable 2009 &/or 2010 tax year.
